Explore Traveller (a division of GreenApple Mental Health Services) was established in 2008 as part of the Australian Government's Mental Health Respite Program, to provide respite for the carers and families of people with intellectual disability.  The program provides a combination of daily recreational respite and holidays for people with intellectual disability.  Our respite service is available to carers and parents across the metropolitan area.

Our holiday programs are carefully planned and coordinated so that each holiday maker receives the support and care they need to gain maximum enjoyment out of their holiday.  Our activities and holidays are designed to encourage friendships, interaction, learning and development.

All staff who accmpany holiday makers are experienced in caring for people with high support needs, complex care needs and challenging behaviours.  We have implemented procedures to deal with emergencies, medications and any special requirements holiday makers might have.  We also spend time with the carers before the holiday to make sure we understand the likes, dislikes and interests of the holiday maker, so that we can plan a holiday that will be remembered for years to come.
